Q: When I sign into the VPN, I'm prompted for a second password. What is that?

Your second password is your second means of authenticating (i.e., multifactor authentication.) You can enter one of the following in the second password field:

  • "Push" - Enter the word "push" to send a request to your smart phone. This request will either show up as a notification on your phone or will pop up in your DUO app. Click "Approve" to complete your connection to the VPN.
  • "Phone" - Enter the word "phone" to receive a phone call to the number your registered with Multifactor Authentication. When you answer the call, press 1 to complete the authentication process and connect to VPN.
  • "SMS" - Enter the word "SMS" to receive a 6-digit passcode as a text message. Enter the 6-digit code in the second password field. Press "Okay" to connect to VPN.

4) You may also generate a passcode through the DUO app and enter that in the "second password" field. Press "okay" to connect to VPN.
