Q: Can I view a film at the Yale Film Archive?
Answered by: Laura Galas

Yes, the Yale Film Archive has one screening room, eight individual viewing stations and two stations that can accommodate two patrons. These viewing facilities may be used by current Yale individuals as well as researchers not affiliated with Yale. Advanced reservations are strongly encouraged for screening rooms but are not necessary nor available for individual viewing booths.

To reserve the screening room or a viewing booth, book a slot on Libcal. More information about the screening rooms and booths, such as capacity and available equipment, can be found here: Yale Film Archive viewing facilities

Because LibCal requires a @yale.edu email to reserve a viewing booth, unaffiliated visitors may only view Yale Film Archive films and videos on a first come, first served basis. YFA staff will not place material on hold nor can they guarantee that material will be available upon your visit. Users should place a request for materials through Quicksearch and wait for confirmation that the item is available for pickup in advance of a visit.
