Q: How do I find a book in the Bass Library?
Answered by: Ro Ross

First, find the book’s call number using either the Quicksearch or Orbis catalogs. The call number is the system we use to shelve material in the library.

There are two floors in the Bass Library. The bookstacks on the upper level hold call numbers A through G and are located across from the Bass Circulation Desk. The lower level bookstacks are split into two sides. Call numbers H through PM stacks surround the Media Lab and call numbers PN through Z stacks are located on the opposite side of the staircase. This Stacks Guide is also available at the Circulation Desk.

There are guide cards at the end of every aisle in the bookstacks. These detail the range of call numbers in each aisle. If you need further assistance locating books, please ask at the Bass Circulation Desk.
