Q: In Google Scholar, can I limit to a specific web site or domain?
Answered by: Kelly Blanchat

To limit your search to a website or domain, use the operator "site:". For example, to find mentions of Handsome Dan on the Yale University website, search for site:yale.edu "handsome dan" (see image below).

Other options include:

  • Limit your search to types of websites by using "site:gov," or "site:org" along side your search terms.
  • Exclude results using -site: if you want to exclude a particulate website or domain from your results.
