Q: When will I have to use Multifactor Authentication?
Answered by: Laura Galas

You will have to authenticate when connecting to:

  1. Virtual Private Network (VPN)
  2. Webmail
  3. Secure Yale sites that require you to login with your netID and password
  4. EZProxy (watch the video below for more information on connecting to electronic resources via EZProxy)

You will not have to authenticate when connecting to your Outlook accounts from mobile devices or tablets.

Please note: You will have to authenticate every time you connect to VPN and our secure Yale sites. You have the option to "remember this device for one day" when you use MFA to connect to your webmail.
