A finding aid is a document that provides a detailed description of the contents of a special collection. It is a tool that allows a researcher to determine what relevance a particular collection has to their inquiry. HTML finding aids in the Yale Finding Aid Database include links that permit a researcher to easily request materials for use in a special collections reading room. Most finding aids offer a downloadable PDF version as well.
