Q: How long can I check out an ILL book?

The library is continuing to process interlibrary loan requests for online articles and online chapters (items not available from Yale Library). Yale Alums are not currently able to request interlibrary loan. Find more information about current interlibrary loan policies at https://guides.library.yale.edu/getit/ILL.

Loan periods are determined by the library lending the material to you.

In general, the amount of time you can borrow an ILL book is 3-4 weeks. Restricted and audio-visual material (such as DVD’s) often have shorter loan periods.
