Q: How can I tell if a Yale Library book is on reserve?
Answered by: Jessica Bower Relevo

There are three ways to tell if a Yale Library book is on reserve:

  1. There will be a note in the Orbis or Quicksearch record indicating location, type of reserve, and duration.  (Example: “Bass Library, Stacks, 24-Hour Reserve”)

  2. At Bass Library, there will be a band around the item indicating it is a "Yale University Library Course Reserve." In the pocket of the band will be a slip that will indicate the circulation period for that particular item: 2 Hour, 24 Hour, or 3 Day. At other library locations there may be other demarcations that indicate the item is a Course Reserve.

  3. If you have checked out a reserve item, you can check Your Library Account online to see when it is due.
