Q: The book I want says it’s on “closed reserve” at Yale Library. What does that mean?

The library is currently processing only electronic reserves. Current students should look for e-reserve material in Canvas. Faculty can request material to be put on e-Reserve via Canvas. Find more information about current reserve policies at https://guides.library.yale.edu/reserves.

“Closed reserve” items have been elected for restricted access by professors, lecturers, and teaching assistants who have included the materials on their respective syllabi. They must be requested at the Circulation Desk and are available for two-hour check out.  Closed Reserve items must be used in-building. Course reserve items are not available for delivery or renewals.

Please contact SML/Bass Reserves at reserves@yale.edu or contact your local reserves unit for assistance.
