Q: What types of materials are and are not available through ILL?
Answered by: Jessica Bower
Generally, Yale will try to borrow anything another library is willing to lend. Information about ILL Borrowing Policies can be found on the Interlibrary Loan Get it @ Yale website.
- Yale can usually get: books, microfilm/microfiche, dissertations and many theses, conference proceedings, book chapters and journal articles (as pdf files).
- Some items that are more difficult to procure are: Senior theses, rare and pre-1850 books and manuscripts, films and audio recordings, entire journal volumes, popular fiction and books that have gotten a lot of recent press, textbooks in high demand, and international dissertations.
