Q: Can I submit interlibrary loan requests over the phone or in person?

Fall 2020

The library is continuing to process interlibrary loan requests for online articles and online chapters (items not available from Yale Library). Yale Alums are not currently able to request interlibrary loan. Find more information about current interlibrary loan policies at https://guides.library.yale.edu/getit/ILL.

Interlibrary loan is the method with which libraries share their resources. To submit an interlibrary loan request:

  • If you are affiliated with Yale University, please use this online form to place a request.
  • If you are not affiliated with Yale but are interested in materials in one of our collections, the best way to obtain a copy of an item is to place an Interlibrary Loan request through your local public or academic library.

If either of these options will not work, you can submit your request directly to our interlibrary loan department through yaleill@yale.edu.
