Q: I'm interested in finding the top publications in a discipline or sub-field. Can I do that in Google Scholar?

To find top publications, you need to start on the main Google Scholar search page (http://scholar.google.com). Look above the Google Scholar logo and click "Metrics." You will see a collection of top English-language journals. Use the search box to search for your journal of interest or use the facets in the left-hand menu to explore top journals in specific subfields. You can view the top papers in each journal by clicking on the h5 index number for a journal of interest.
