Q. Can someone assist me with my research in Yale Special Collections?

You are welcome to visit our special collections reading rooms if you wish to research your question in person. If this is not possible, you might consider hiring a researcher to conduct research on your behalf. Please note that the Library does not coordinate this service; it would be an independent arrangement between you and the researcher, though we can offer a few suggestions. 

• Send a short description of your requirements to the registrar or Academic Support Assistant of the relevant academic department (consult the individual websites of graduate programs & departments). The registrar should be able to forward your project on to graduate students and invite them to contact you. 
• The Center for Career Services at Southern Connecticut State University maintains a registry for services wanted, which is available to its entire student body. Please contact them directly if you are interested in utilizing this service to advertise for a research assistant.
• Some patrons have had success posting a researcher position on Craigslist.
