Q: What types of materials are and are not available through ILL?
Answered by: Jessica Bower Relevo
Generally, Yale will try to borrow anything another library is willing to lend. Information about ILL Borrowing Policies can be found on the Interlibrary Loan Get it @ Yale website.
Yale can usually borrow via InterLibrary Loan:
- books
- microfilm/microfiche
- dissertations and many theses
- conference proceedings
- book chapters
- journal articles (as pdf files)
Some items that are more difficult to procure are:
- Undergraduate senior theses
- rare and pre-1850 books and manuscripts
- films and audio recordings
- entire journal volumes
- popular fiction and books that have gotten a lot of recent press
- textbooks in high demand
- international dissertations
