Q: I need material that the Yale library doesn't have. Can the library order the material for me?
Answered by: Laura Sider

Yale has an interlibrary loan service for ordering material from other libraries. Interlibrary loan is open to current:

  • Yale students
  • Yale faculty
  • Yale staff
  • Fellows, post-docs, and other researchers with library privileges included in their appointment
  • Yale alumni who purchase borrowing privileges

Independent researchers with paid privileges are usually ineligible for Interlibrary Loan. Contact the Privileges Office for information regarding levels of library access by sending an email to askyale@gmail.com or calling 203-432-1775 during business hours.
