Q: I need a book and it looks like the library doesn't have it. Is there any way to borrow a copy of the book?

When the Yale Library doesn't own a book, or when the book you need is missing or checked out, you can usually borrow the book through the Borrow Direct service. This cooperative service makes the collections of Brown University, Columbia Universtiy, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Harvard, Johns Hopkins and Princeton University available to Yale.  Borrow Direct requests are usually available within four business days and is a free service.

Search and request through Borrow Direct.
