Answer

Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is software that enables e-books from certain publishers to be read on a computer or mobile device.

·         Adobe Digital Editions is available to download for free. Visit the following link and select your operating system (Windows or Macintosh): http://www.adobe.com/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html.

To complete the installation process you will also need an Adobe ID, which is simply a username and password so that ADE can recognize your account. An Adobe ID will also enable multiple devices (up to 6), so that your e-book loans stay with you, no matter where you go.

·         Sign-up for an Adobe ID here: https://accounts.adobe.com/

Note: Adobe Digital Editions is generally only required for e-books that have DRM limitations, such as limitations for loan periods or simultaneous users. When using Adobe Digital Editions, be sure to check the remaining time on the loan period, as content will be automatically removed when the loan expires.
