How do I request an item in Quicksearch?

You can request items found in the Books+ search in Quicksearch. Start by clicking on a title in the search results:

This takes you to the item view page. The location, call number, and availability of the item are noted in the 'Available from:" box on the right. In the example below, the item is located at the Library Shelving Facility, the call number is NLj20 891C, it is not checked out  , and both recall/request and scanning services are available for the item. NOTE: A request is known as a 'recall' if the item is checked out .

  • Click "Request recall or delivery" to request an item to be delivered to a circulation desk near you. 

  • Yale University Library also offers articles/chapter scanning through our Scan & Deliver service.
    To request an article or chapter scan, click "Request scan of article/chapter."

NOTE: Not every item in the Books+ search is requestable or scannable. If you encounter an item that you know should be available for these services, please report the problem here:
