Yes. Google Scholar is a search engine for academia, and it will retrieve articles, books, patents, and other information for researchers. Google Scholar does not curate content, so look at authors, their affiliations, the journals, and the publishers to determine if a citation in Google Scholar is worthwhile.

  1. Students should be aware that google scholar's metadata is sometimes wrong, so they should verify the bibliographic details, especially for older sources and for chapters of books.
